Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. — 2 Corinthians 9:7 KJV
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. — 2 Corinthians 9:7 NIV
Reflection
God is shaping our personalities and our wills to be more like his own through the work he is doing in us. God is the ultimate provider. God takes great pleasure in showering us with undeserved good fortune. Now he expects us to act in the same manner.
It is not merely an arbitrary chore that has been assigned to us in order to financially support our churches and ministries; rather, giving is an essential component of our transformation into people who are more like God. It is possible that this is one of the most genuine ways that we have placed our loyalty, dependence, and priorities in the work that God has done for us
My Prayer
Please forgive me, Father, for the times that I have been wasteful with the wealth that you have bestowed upon me. Make me a channel through which blessings can flow. I know that whatever I possess is rightfully yours. Help me and teach me in using it in the manner will bring glory to you. In Jesus mighty name I pray. Amen.
