Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy. — Proverbs 14:29 KJV
Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. — Proverbs 14:29 NIV
Thought and Reflection
It’s incredibly easy to create our security around money, doesn’t it? But global catastrophes, economic meltdowns, embargoes, and natural disasters can destroy the basis of our security, whether it’s in the form of earthly wealth or physical objects.
However, if we place our trust in God we can benefit from His blessings with the world that surrounds us, and have the peace of mind that the most important things in our lives can’t be removed from us.
My Prayer
Loving and faithful Father, thank You for being my God. I am happy that You are the only one who I can trust for my identity and values, as well as hope, security, and a bright future.
Your blessings have come in numerous ways. But please be a help when I’m trying to trust You , not in the world’s riches or possessions. To You all the glory and praise, today and forever. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
